Dr Abbey Akinoshun

CEO ERRAS – Employment Rights Representation and Advisory Services

Dr Abbey Akinoshun taught himself Employment Law at home, having suffered racial discrimination at work. He took it upon himself to challenge the inequalities in society by establishing a self-funding organisation called “Voluntary Employment Advisory Services for Ethnic Minorities, which offered free advice to people who faced disciplinary hearings, racial discrimination, bullying and harassment at work in the early 90s.
The success of the initiative, resulting from Abbey’s entrepreneurial skills enabled him to further set up a Consultancy and Advocacy business called ERRAS –Employment Rights Representation and Advisory Services, which has been supporting and representing hundreds of black workers who have no financial means of hiring lawyers to represent them at the disciplinary hearings and Employment Tribunals. Abbey and his firm are motivated to win justice for others, having gone through the same experience himself.
